The cleanliness of the hotel was impressive, and the
staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating. The location was perfect for my business needs, with great access to public transport. However, some additional amenities like a complimentary breakfast would have been nice.

The room itself was great.
I was disappointed to find that the elevator was blocked, preventing me from exploring the spa area. It felt strange to be in such an upscale hotel with so many limited services. Mornings were quite uncomfortable too, as I wasn't allowed to sit in the outdoor patio and was told to use a hard bench in the lobby instead, with no coffee available.

Recommended for couples looking for a getaway
The room was spacious, clean, and had an amazing view over the city. The staff were incredibly helpful, upgrading us for free and even providing a handy phone filled with tourist info that we could take out. It felt like a real touch of luxury for sure!
It wasn't inexpensive, but for the quality, it was worth every penny.

I stayed in a Superior Twin Room. It was clean and had a good size. The coffee provided was surprisingly nice, and they packed all the necessary amenities. Staff was super friendly and responsive too. Overall, the room felt comfortable, but it's showing a bit of age. Still, it had everything I needed for a cozy stay.

would definitely book here again
The room was cozy with a large bed, flat-screen TV, kettle, and a private bathroom stocked with free toiletries. Great spa facilities with a sauna and open-air bath for relaxation. The staff was super helpful, and the location near the subway made exploring easy. Breakfast included tasty Japanese dishes and fruit-infused water.

Hotel Monterey Kyoto offered a fantastic stay with a unique classic design that really stood out. Just a 10-minute walk to Nishiki Market made it super convenient for exploring the area. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful, which added to the positive experience. Rooms were impeccably clean and included various amenities—such as slippers and a fridge—making the stay comfortable. I really appreciated having a local supermarket just 100 meters away for easy snack options. However, I did find it disappointing that there was no smart TV in the room, which limited entertainment options. It would have been nice to log into Netflix or Amazon Prime Video during downtime. Overall, the experience was enjoyable, but a few modern upgrades could elevate it even more.

This was just a well-suited match for a brief pit stop in Kyoto with value for money. The lighting in the hallways felt weirdly creepy, making me question the cleanliness. I’d suggest checking the room options before settling in.
